Charlie's Story

Grew up in Port St Lucie FL where I spent a lot of time on the baseball field, whether it being little league or the local minor league baseball stadium. My Mom and Aunt were devoted Baseball fans and raised me up to love the game just as much as they do. Around age 12 my mom moved us to Douglas, GA and have lived here ever since.  Graduated from Coffee High School and went off to college at Georgia Southern University before changing majors and ending up at Valdosta State University where I finished with my Bachelors in Accounting.

Following College, Matt and his mom Barbara hired me out of School to help with Glaziers on Demand and introduced me to the glass industry.  At the time I didn’t know much about the glass industry but through their teachings I have learned a lot about glass and the industry.  I started off a staff accountant working on end table in Ms Barbaras office where she taught me the aspects of the job and through the years I have come up to my own and have grown from a young staff accountant to CFO covering the Glazier Nation series of companies.

People who have mentored me over the years have been my Mom, Matt Day, Barbara Day, James Carver, Ashley Ellis, Matt Rutland and Mike Clements.

Mom:  My mom taught me a hard work ethic, she worked 2 jobs to support us growing up and taught me you have to work hard for what you want.

Matt Day :  Matt has taught me a lot but probably the biggest thing he has taught me is to be believe in myself, that I am capable of big things and through his guidance I have gotten to be where I am today.

Barbara Day:  Ms Barbara has taught me a lot over the years but one of the biggest things she has taught me is to be bold about my faith and that as long as God is at the forefront whatever mountain you face he will lead you through it.

James Carver: James was like the grandpa I never had, He taught me to fight for what I wanted in life and to make the best out of any situation.

Ashley Ellis:  Ashley has taught me to be tough and bold. I have always been shy  and working with Ashley over the years, she has taught me to break that shell and be bold with what I am doing.

Matt Rutland and Mike Clements: Both have help guide me in life to know Christ as my savior and have helped me grow spiritually into the man I have become.
